From First Nations fusions to Balkan Jazz and Hip Hop

Box of Chocolates

Box of Chocolates is a dynamic duo featuring Torres Strait Islander songman Murraywa (George) Dow Sailor and multi-genre flautist Chloe Chung. Their fusion of multi-instrumental, traditional and contemporary styles weave storytelling, song and dance inviting audiences to bask in the vibration of healing. 

Maissa Alameddine

Maissa grew up in Tripoli, Lebanon and now lives and works on the unceded lands of the Cammeraygal and Darug peoples. She is a multidisciplinary artist and vocalist, who explores the idea of migration as a chronic injury and uses her voice as a provocation and a response.

Maissa is an experienced vocalist who will perform Arab inspired vocal electronica at Pathways, drawing on her experience with Arabic and Persian jazz music ensembles and contemporary and classical Western orchestras.

Mirko Golub Balkan Jazz Ensemble

Mirko has 20 years’ experience in Europe performing Balkan, Latin Jazz and classical piano. Since moving back to Australia, Mirko has been a hired gun for Balkan superstars touring Australia and has recently performed in Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.

Mirko’s Balkan Jazz Ensemble will bend and twist Balkan melodies into future Australian Jazz Standards.

Avaye Rood

Avaye Rood perform Persian inspired original music with English and Persian poems of Rumi, fusing traditional Iranian instruments including tar, oud, setar, kamancheh, and tombak with the rich tones of the upright bass.
The haunting and timeless Persian vocals are supported by the compositions of Behzad Ansari will have your spirits flying!

Dani Blaz & Atihcual

Chilean Australian artist Dani Blaz, blends her Hip Hop with lyrics of positive change and real life experiences.

Working with beat maker, Atihcual (Chile), together they will combine their individual Hip Hop styles with touches of Jazz and Latin American music.
